The Great Wembley Fete

A beautiful sunny Saturday morning on 8th November 2014 in Wembley and while some people would just be jumping out of bed to have their morning tea and toast, Wembley Primary school parents, friends and students are busy putting the final touches on the Fete preparation and set up.

The day was an incredible success and with the dozens of stalls available to see, try and buy including; books, crafts, pre-loved toys, plants, cakes, hermit crabs, lollies, jams and a bunch of other exciting items.

Several exciting activities were on show for the kids to enjoy such as; giant zorb balls, bouncy castle, music, plays, and a super slide.

We organised the Silent Auction for the day which was a huge success. The Wembley community as always helped out and donated over 60 items for us to Auction off on the day. Everything from the 2000 Sydney Olympics’ signed memorabilia, artwork, iPad Mini, holiday home rental, beauty vouchers, fitness vouchers/memberships and a range of food items/vouchers.

The Silent Auction had a great turn out with almost all of the items being bid on and won. We raised in excess of $7,000 for Wembley Primary.

In total the day is believed to have raised over $80,000 for the school which is a sensational achievement for everyone involved.

A massive thank you to everyone who helped out on the day and of course the ladies who co-ordinated the whole thing, it wouldn’t have been as successful without absolutely anyone who got in and got their hands dirty.

Let’s hope that the Fete which is held every four years continues to grow bigger and better.
