It’s cold, it’s wet and the kids are on holidays for two weeks. What are you going to do with them to keep them occupied and entertained during the holidays? Well we’ve come up with the five best events and activities happening in Perth during the school holidays so you don’t have to do the ground work.


  • Perth City’s Snowland

There’s nothing more exciting than seeing snow for the first time and it’s already cold outside so why not make freezing your toes off worth it for you and the kids. Located in Forrest Place from Monday 7th July to Saturday 19th July 10.30am- 3.00pm daily, Snowland is where you can see real snow and be taken on a journey through an enchanted forrest with delightful characters and even take a ride down the snow slide. This is a FREE event where you just need to obtain an entry pass to a session to attend.

  • Winterland

Keeping in the theme of Winter, Perth’s very first outdoor ice skating rink has been set up in Perth Cultural Centre and is open from 9.00am to 10.00pm daily from Friday 4th July – Sunday 20th July. Not only is there the outdoor ice rink there is also a winter themed bar (for the adults of course) a cafe and a range of food stalls. Sessions on the rink must be booked and run for 45 minutes, beginning on the hour.

  • Dinosaur Discovery – Perth Museum

Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous is an exhibition like no other! With more than 20 moving, life-size dinosaur models, kids can get hands on with information and activities in the ‘Play-laeontology Zone’ in the museum grounds. On daily 9.30am – 5.00pm Saturday 5th July to Sunday 20th July.
